Lets talk about Hair loss....in Women

So let’s face it hair loss in women is now an issue we see quite frequently, which can be caused by anything from stress to a medical treatment or condition.

But whatever the cause the good news is there is now a number of options and we’re going to explore them.

Hopefully this is something that most of you reading this never have to experience, so please don’t panic, alot of clients tell me every week they are losing hair-but please remember you are supposed to lose between 100-125 strands per day this is completely normal!

I personally took an interest in hair loss when my own mum lost most of her hair following an operation. My mum was always very glam and took pride in her hair. When her scalp became more and more visible over the course of a few months she was devastated. As I’m sure you can imagine her confidence plummeted and she was desperate to find a solution. At the time I noticed there was a severe lack of affordable options out there for this and the ones that were, weren’t really advertised. This is when I found out about a system that would change her life, but we’ll get to that later.

What are the options?

Well luckily enough there are now plenty! Most people try vitamins first of all. Easily accessible in both boots or holland & barrett, there are endless options to try. Biotin is a great supplement for your hair in general or my personal favourite for thinning hair is something called Viviscal. There is also a new therapy called mesotherapy- this involves multiple injections into the scalp to stimulate hair growth. We don‘t currently offer this is the salon and I don’t have any experience with anyone that has tried it but definitely one that’s worth a look in my opinion. One thing I should say is, if you are worried about a significant amount of hair loss you should first contact your doctor. One of the most common causes, and something I always ask my clients first off, can be a change in medications. Diet also can play a huge part and your doctor will be able to discuss this with you.

Mesh integration system

The system we now offer in the salon and the one that I believe has the potential to change the confidence of anyone suffering from thinning hair is called a mesh integration system. it involves absolutely no glue or adhesive and actually allows your own hair to grow underneath the whole time.

If you or anyone you know is suffering from hair loss or extreme hair thinning we offer completely free advise and would be more than happy to answer any questions you might have.
